Dunmore beat Lakeland 35-8 on Nov. 20 at Valley View in Peckville for a third straight District 2 Class AA title, the second program to do that after Lakeland's run from 2002 to 2004. Michael Ehnot returned an interception 30 yards for the first score. Michael Perry ran for 105 yards and two touchdowns. The Bucks had won six straight over the Chiefs. The September score was also 35-8, on Sept. 25 at Chapman Lake. Perry carried 19 times for 120 yards and one touchdown that night, a 5-yard run 2:01 into the game. Dave Olivetti, in his fourth start, completed 5 of 5 passes for 52 yards and two touchdowns. Henzes said Olivetti had been behind Miller Holmes for his whole career. Halftime was 14-0. Lakeland's only score was a 10-yard run by J.J. Rojenches with 1:35 left. Jack Henzes collapsed on the sideline in the November final, was taken to Mercy Hospital, and was back for the state opener.
