Dunmore football playoff history

District 2 titles on this page are the ones on the Times-Tribune's 2026 Gameface championship list: Class 2A in 1995, 1999, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2023, and Class 1A in 2012. The 1989 PIAA Class 1A championship is a state title. It is in the state-game list and not in the district-title table. In 2020 District II names Dunmore the Class 2A champion, under Kevin McHale, and no championship game was played.

The first game list is district games, conference finals, and any playoff line whose source does not name a PIAA round. The state list is the games a source labels as PIAA. The 2014 District 2 Class AA history supplies the Dunmore scores from 1992 through 2009 that it prints. The PIAA results book supplies the state games from 1989 through 2012, with sites and dates. From 2004 on, MaxPreps playoff and tournament lines fill in the games those two sources do not date. A line MaxPreps tags only as a playoff stays labeled Playoff.

The 2014 history's past-champions list puts the 2009 Dunmore title in Class AA. The appearances sentence in that same story tags 2009 through 2013 as Class A. The 2026 list calls 2009 Class 2A. This page uses 2A. In 1999 the 2015 account names one loss, Mount Carmel, and the PIAA book has that quarterfinal as Mount Carmel 22, Dunmore 0. The 2014 history also lists Lakeland 28, Dunmore 13 after the district final and does not name the round. Both lines are here. A 12-1 season has room for one of them.

The PIAA book lists the 2014 first-round pairing, Dunmore against Northwestern Lehigh at Valley View, and does not print a score. MaxPreps has Dunmore 35, Northwestern Lehigh 27. The book spells the 2009 Palisades site Kintersville. The site line here uses Palisades High School. For 1989, the champions list and Wikipedia call the championship field Memorial Stadium in Middletown. The results book calls it Memorial Field. The 1985 Eastern Conference wins over Williamsport and West Scranton are named without scores, so they are not in the game list. No 2000 district game was in the 2014 history's game log.

The Eastern Conference championship list supplies the 1943 Class A line, Dunmore 0, Lansford 19, the 1986 Class A line, Dunmore 27, West Scranton 8, and the Division II lines in 1998, 2001, and 2002. Those entries do not carry a date or a field.
