Dunmore Football 2018 Season

Henzes had a heart procedure, and assistants Kevin McHale, Jeff Mills, and Michael DeSando ran the sideline. He was still the head coach. Dunmore won the District 2 Class 2A title and finished 9-4. West Catholic won the postseason finale, 3-21, at a neutral site on Nov. 17.

The regular-season losses were Scranton Prep 0-31 at home, Lackawanna Trail 15-21 on the road, and Lakeland 14-17 on the road. The postseason wins were Carbondale Area 55-8 and Susquehanna 60-19, both at home. Western Wayne was a 9-0 road win on Oct. 19.

The district final was Susquehanna, 60-19, at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Nov. 10. Dunmore scored on its first seven possessions and led 54-0 late in the third. Susquehanna had 35 yards in the first half. Cristian Buckley and Rayshaun Dawkins each scored twice. The players dedicated the win to Henzes, who had been out all season after a heart procedure. The Times-Tribune called it five straight district titles, and four for the senior class. The record in that story was 9-3. Dunmore lost the state game later, 3-21.
