DUNMOREBUCKS

Frank Santarsiero

Fullback · 2009 · Misericordia

On Nov. 20, 2009, in the District 2 Class AA final, Dunmore's Santarsiero scored from the 1 after a 39-yard run. Dunmore beat Lakeland 35-8. On Sept. 25 at Chapman Lake he had scored from 3 yards in a 35-8 win over the same team.

He was a senior fullback that fall, 5-foot-9 and 175 pounds. A tailback by trade, he had moved to fullback when Chris Mecca was hurt at the start of the season before. The Nov. 26 story has him at 1,089 rushing yards over those two seasons, and also catching screens. Dunmore was getting ready for a rematch with West Catholic after a 49-21 loss in the 2008 postseason.

The 2013 Misericordia roster listed him at running back, No. 32, 5-7 and 180, a senior from Dunmore. He started all 10 games, second on the team with 133 carries for 713 yards and four touchdowns, 71.3 yards a game. Three of the scores came in the program's first win against FDU-Florham on Nov. 16, and the long run that day was 39. He had one catch for two yards and one tackle. In 2012 he played eight games and started five at fullback, with 58 carries for 166 yards and a touchdown, plus two catches for 18 yards. His first appearance was against Widener. His first collegiate start, at Wilkes, was eight carries for 37 yards. Against FDU-Florham that year he ran for 63 yards on 15 carries, with a touchdown, a 33-yard run, and an 8-yard catch. The bio calls him a high school football captain and an all-star game selection.
