Western Wayne never scores. Dunmore hangs 72

Fourth shutout. The Bucks are 7-0, and the margin for the season is still around 50.

Western Wayne came to Veterans Memorial Stadium on Homecoming at 3-3. Dunmore was 6-0. The final was 72-0, and it was 58-0 at the half. The Bucks are 7-0 and 2-0 in Division II. Western Wayne is 3-4 and 0-2, and finished with 39 yards.

Xavier Burke scored three times in the first quarter, from 49, 9, and 12 yards. Between the first and the next two, Brady McCormick hit Jack McHale from 9 yards to end a 9-play drive. Patrick Dickel recovered a punt fumble, and McCormick hit Jake Costanzo on a 26-yard slant. The story places that score before a second-quarter safety, Gavin Ortiz tackled in the end zone, and does not print the clock. Weston Yannone then ran for a 22-yard score and returned a punt 36 yards. Josef Wolff closed the half with a 69-yard run.

Beau Golden scored from 16 yards in the fourth, and Nick Rought from 36. Dunmore had a touchdown on all seven first-half possessions and the punt return besides.

The Friday capsule had Dunmore ahead in the series, 21-4, with last year's meeting at 35-14. Honesdale, also 2-0 in the division entering the night, is next.
