The league opener is a 56-0 shutout at Mid Valley
First LFC Division II game. Dunmore is 6-0 and 1-0 in the division.
Mid Valley was the first Lackawanna Football Conference game, Friday night at Spartans Stadium in Throop. Dunmore won, 56-0. The Bucks are 6-0 and 1-0 in Division II. Mid Valley is 3-3 and 0-1.
Jake Costanzo had 81 yards and three scores in one half. He ran for 7 and for 4, and the 4-yarder made it 21-0 after the first quarter. The third was a 55-yard catch from Brady McCormick that put the game into the mercy rule. The story does not give that catch a quarter. Six backs scored. Dunmore rushed for 360 yards and scored on eight of its first nine possessions.
Logan Miller had a sack of Paxton Grebb. Mid Valley had 51 yards in the first half and 78 in the game. Through six games Dunmore had allowed 20 points, and Lackawanna Trail was still the only team to score on the first-team defense.
Western Wayne is home Friday. The Times-Tribune series line entering that game: Dunmore leads 21-4.
