1990–1999

Dunmore football in the 1990s

The 2015 table has Dunmore 7-4 in 1990, 7-3 in 1991, 8-4 in 1992, 9-2 in 1993, 7-4 in 1994, 10-3 in 1995, 3-7 in 1996, 1-9 in 1997, 8-4 in 1998, and 12-1 in 1999.

1990 finished 7-4, and 7-2 in the Big 11, tied for second with West Scranton and Lakeland. Scranton Prep won the conference. Dave Silvestrini was All-Region at fullback and linebacker, and Tom Marchese threw for 1,113 yards and eight touchdowns in his fourth season as the starter. 1991 stays on the table at 7-3. A Sept. 5, 2021 look-back, under 30 years ago, has Silvestrini at 249 yards and four touchdowns in a 36-21 win over West Scranton. The past-winners list names him the 1991 offensive player of the year.

1993 tied Scranton Prep for the Big 11 title. The narrative line is 7-1 in the conference. Dallas won the district playoff meeting, 14-6. 1995 shared the Big 11 and won the first District 2 Class AA title, 28-14 over Wyoming Area. 1999 won District 2 Class AA, 38-21 over Lakeland, and lost the state quarterfinal to Mount Carmel, 0-22.

A 2024 tradition story puts 1996 and 1997 at a combined 4-16, and 1998 and 1999 at a combined 20 wins. The table splits those: 3-7 and 1-9, then 8-4 and 12-1.

1998 is 8-4 on the table. A Nov. 9, 1998 account had Dunmore in the District 2 Class AA semifinal at Wyoming Area, at 7 p.m. Friday, after a nine-game tiebreaker with Scranton Prep. That account printed no result.
