Vic Fangio

Fangio played defensive back and receiver on the Big 11 teams of 1973, 1974, and 1975, then played at East Stroudsburg. He came back and coached the Dunmore defense from 1979 to 1981. Those three assistant seasons do not have published win-loss lines here, so they are not separate season pages.

When Denver introduced him as head coach in 2019, he thanked Henzes. The Times-Tribune traced the path through Milford Academy, North Carolina, the USFL Philadelphia Stars, and NFL assistant stops before Denver. Joe Marciano, another Dunmore player, is the coach the paper credits with pulling him onto that Stars staff.

When Henzes died in 2023, Fangio was the Miami Dolphins' defensive coordinator. In the obituary he called him a local treasure whose teaching stayed with Dunmore players.
