Tim Drewes
Defensive line · Through 2014
On Sept. 20, 2013, against Old Forge, Dan Drewes forced a fumble and Tim fell on it. Dunmore took over at the 8 and scored. In the 35-0 District 2 Class AA final against Northwest Area the next year, he sacked Logan Womelsdorf for an 11-yard loss on third-and-11. On Sept. 12, 2014, against West Scranton, he stopped Andre Chollete Jr. on fourth-and-2 at the Dunmore 10, and Dunmore won 34-14. No college stop is in these stories.
Tim Drewes was a senior in 2014, 6-foot-3 and 280 pounds, and Dan Drewes' twin. He was a three-year starter on the defensive line. Nagging injuries limited his junior season. As a senior he also played offensive tackle. The Hookey Reap story calls him the dominant defensive lineman in the Lackawanna Football Conference that year. He earned All-Region honors, and the Pennsylvania Football Writers put him on the Class AA all-state team after more than 20 tackles for loss and 10 sacks.
The District 11 American Legion gave the twins the 2014 Hookey Reap awards, Dan on offense and Tim on defense, as the outstanding linemen in Lackawanna County. Dunmore retires the jerseys of players who make all-state. The all-state story puts their older brother Tom on that list as a 2004 Class AA first-team linebacker, and their uncle Cory Meade as a 1975 first-team defensive back.
