DUNMOREBUCKS

Mike Boccella

Lineman · Through 2002 · Bucknell

Boccella's first Dunmore start came as a junior, at right tackle and at defensive tackle. The next season he stayed at right tackle. The Sept. 11, 2006 Bucknell account is the source for that line.

His senior season was 2002. He was a co-captain, a Times-Tribune all-region pick, and the Hookey Reap winner as the top offensive lineman in Lackawanna County. The 2015 Hookey Reap list and the Oct. 27, 2016 retrospective both put Mike Boccella on the 2002 offensive award. He was also a Lackawanna Football Conference Division II all-star, and he won the Ann DeSanto Award and the Butch Conway Award as the team's best offensive lineman.

At Bucknell he was a 6-3, 266-pound lineman from Dunmore, an American history major. He made the two-deep as a freshman. As a sophomore he played in 10 games and made his first career start in the opener against Villanova. As a junior he made eight starts on the offensive line before an ankle injury. In September 2006, his senior year, he was listed second on the depth chart for the Lafayette game. He told Bucknell he never won a ring in high school.
