Joshua Malone

Fullback · 2021-2022 · King's

On Nov. 5, 2021, Dunmore's Josh Malone took a handoff and ran 37 yards through the middle for a touchdown. Dunmore led 22-7 and won 35-7 over Susquehanna in a District 2 Class 2A semifinal. The first quarter was scoreless. Dan Pigga scored from 17 yards with 4:50 left in the first half, and Dunmore led 7-0. In the second half Pigga's 36-yard run set up Malone's score. Pigga finished with 139 rushing yards, 115 of them after halftime. Dunmore rushed for 319 yards.

The Aug. 20, 2022 account calls him fullback Joshua Malone, 5-foot-9 and 195 pounds. The season before, he was a blocking lead back in a Dunmore running game that produced 1,661 yards. He had 144 of them and averaged 6.5 yards a carry. That account says the District 2 Class 2A final loss to Lackawanna Trail, a game Dunmore led into the fourth quarter, drove the offseason. He said the loss left the players upset and dedicated to getting better.

He then played running back at King's College, listed as a sophomore at No. 25, 5-foot-9 and 165 pounds. The roster bio says he had been a captain in football and track at Dunmore and had earned all-star and all-league honors, and that he chose King's over Temple and Springfield. In 2023 he played in four of 11 games and ran for 14 yards on two carries in a win over Albright on Sept. 16. King's finished 8-3 and 7-2 in the Middle Atlantic Conference and reached the Centennial-MAC Bowl series. In 2024 he played in three of 12 games and ran for 6 yards on five carries in a win at Albright on Nov. 9. King's finished 10-2 and 9-0 in the conference before a loss in the second round of the NCAA Division III playoffs. He made the MAC Academic Honor Roll in 2024.
