DUNMOREBUCKS

Cory Meade

Running back, defensive back · 1975

Meade was Dunmore's leading rusher in 1975 and an Associated Press all-state defensive back. He ran for more than 1,200 yards and scored 126 points. The Sunday Times named him Player of the Year. The line in front of him had first-team all-stars Tim Ruddy at tackle, Mike Sandone at guard, and Joe Tabone at center. Dunmore won a third straight Big 11 title and finished 10-1 in the conference.

He said the group had come up together from a freshman team of 16 that won a championship. The 2014 all-state story lists him as the Drewes twins' uncle and a 1975 first-team defensive back.

In the 1976 Dream Game at Memorial Stadium, Meade scored from the 2 in the third quarter. Bob Mesko had scored the City's first touchdown on a 10-yard run. The County won, 14-12, before 7,067. Rain postponed the game twice.
